September 19, 2006 Board Meeting Agenda Item #20 Title APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES, INC. (Si2) AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO TARGETED STUDENTS OF TITLE I SCHOOLS FOR 2006-2007 Description Supplemental Instructional Services, Inc. (Si2) will provide tutoring in language arts and/or math to individual or small groups (max. 5 students) before or after school or early evening/Saturday morning as needed.  Sessions will be held for a minimum of one hour per week and the hourly rate is $45.00 per student in small groups, or $70.00 for individual tutoring.  This contract will not exceed $950.00 per student and is paid from Title I funds as stipulated in No Child Left Behind. Recommendation That the School Board of Sarasota County approve the contract with Supplemental Instructional Services (Si2) to provide SES tutorial services to targeted Title I students.
